que me tengan compasión
nacimos para morirnos
eso lo buscó mi Dios.

No quiero cohetes ni flores
ni una tumba especial
tan solo quiero señores

un entierro sin llorar.

Que se reunan las mujeres
que me amaron de verdad
me dan un beso de despedida
porque su hombre ya se va.

Cuando me estén sepultando
no quiero verlos llorar
porque al pasar de los años
de mi no se acordarán.

que me entierren en mi tierra
tierra que me vio nacer
quiero estar junto a mis padres
para volverlos a ver.

No quiero cohetes...

Overall Meaning

Tierra Cali's song "Un Entierro Sin Llorar" is a song about a man's wishes for his death and burial. The song starts with the man expressing that he does not want anyone to feel sorry for him when he dies as it is the God's plan for everyone to die. He then goes on to say that he does not want any fireworks or special flowers during his burial, nor does he want a special tomb, all he wants is a burial without tears.

The man then requests that the women in his life who loved him should come to say their final goodbyes and give him a final farewell kiss as he is going away. He goes on to say that when he is being buried, he does not want anyone to cry for him as over time, no one will remember him. He then expresses his desire to be buried in the same land where he was born, next to his parents, hoping to see them again.

The lyrics of the song reflect the cultural belief that death is a necessary part of life and that it is not something to be feared. The man in the song accepts his fate and only wishes for a simple and peaceful burial.
